Child Nutrition Temporary

Primary Purpose: The Child Nutrition Worker has assignments in production, serving, cleaning and sanitation areas; assignments may vary on a day to day basis.

Qualifications: Education/Certification: None Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to follow verbal instructions Experience: None

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Prepare or assist in preparation of vegetables, salads, meats and/or bakery items
• Assist in cashier duties as needed
• Serve menu items to customers on serving lines
• Assist with cleaning in dish room and/or pot and pan areas
• Sweep and mop floors
• Assist in cleaning of equipment and the general kitchen/dining room areas
• Store food items and supplies properly; maintain a clean and organized storage area
• Demonstrate knowledge of proper care and use of equipment
• Maintain trash and garbage collection in a neat and sanitary fashion
• Follow standards of cleanliness, health, and safety
• Assume responsibilities of other absent employees as needed
• Treat all employees, staff members and customers with dignity, respect and kindness
• Be willing and able to work on a replacement basis at any campus
• Arrive on time for work and practice good attendance, while working the schedule assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff

Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Frequent prolonged and irregular hours; Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; steady phone interactions; moderate standing, walking, and bending.
