Head Cook

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Cook to coordinate all aspects of kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will oversee staffing, purchasing, storage, food preparation, and service to ensure high-quality meals and efficient kitchen management. Key Responsibilities Coordinate all kitchen operations including staffing, purchasing, storage, preparation, and food service. Collaborate with management to hire, train, and manage kitchen support staff. Purchase or requisition food items, supplies, and equipment as needed. Participate in the menu planning process to ensure variety and quality. Oversee food production and portioning to maintain quality standards and control food costs. Supervise the production of special diet items to meet specific dietary requirements. Ensure all kitchen operations comply with federal, state, and local sanitation and safety regulations and health codes. Perform moderately heavy physical labor, including extensive walking and lifting up to 25 pounds or more occasionally. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 2 years supervisory experience as a Head Cook or Chef preferred. Basic math and computer skills. Knowledge of kitchen equipment, procedures, and food safety standards. Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier items. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and vehicle insurance required. Strong leadership and communication skills. Physical Requirements Moderately heavy physical labor required. Extensive walking throughout the work shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally heavier loads.
