About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in acute care License: WA or Compact License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in acute care Experience with titrating Heparin and Cardizem drips Description: The unit is a Med-Surg/Telemetry department with 18 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 to 1:5. Common patient diagnoses include CHF, DM, UTI, non-critical sepsis, HTN, COPD, and end-of-life care. Nurses will be responsible for reading telemetry strips pending approval. Charge Nurse is available for support. Nurse Aides and Certified Nursing Assistants are present in the unit. Limited RT equipment such as CPAP and BiPAP is available, but no high-flow devices. Weekend shifts are expected based on unit needs. Floating to other units may be required as needed. There is no specific dress code for scrubs as determined by management. The orientation process includes two shifts to acclimate to the unit. The facility may cancel a limited number of shifts during the assignment. Charting is done using an electronic system. This position involves working in an acute care setting with a trauma level of 1.
