Position Summary

\n

The Nursing Supervisor / Hospital Operations Coordinator (RN) is a dynamic hospital operations and clinical leadership role responsible for overseeing facility-wide administrative, clinical, and staffing functions during assigned shifts. This role provides real-time operational oversight, clinical support, and rapid response across all hospital and long-term care units, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients.

Key Responsibilities

\n

Clinical & Emergency Response

\n

\n
• \n

  Conducts ongoing rounding, clinical monitoring, and resource support across all units

\n
• \n

  Performs rapid clinical assessments and triages emerging patient concerns

\n
• \n

  Recognizes subtle or early signs of patient deterioration and initiates appropriate escalation

\n
• \n

  Responds to all Rapid Response (RRT) and Code Blue events

\n
• \n

  Maintains active ACLS certification and supports ongoing staff education

\n
• \n

  Guides, educates, and mentors clinical teams in best practices and competency development

\n
• \n

  Participates in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and clinical evaluations

\n

\n

Care Coordination & Clinical Collaboration

\n

\n
• \n

  Partners with unit teams to ensure safe, effective, and timely care delivery

\n
• \n

  Supports implementation and documentation of individualized care plans

\n
• \n

  Assists nursing staff with 24-hour patient reporting and clinical handoff accuracy

\n
• \n

  Helps identify patient needs, barriers to care, and opportunities for staff development

\n
• \n

  Collaborates with nursing leadership, physicians, ancillary departments, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to address clinical and operational needs

\n

\n

Leadership & Shift Management

\n

\n
• \n

  Serves as the on-site clinical and administrative leader for the entire facility during assigned shifts

\n
• \n

  Provides leadership and direction to nursing and support staff during assigned shifts

\n
• \n

  Upholds hospital mission, policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards

\n
• \n

  Monitors staffing levels and assists with staffing adjustments to support safe patient care

\n
• \n

  Documents shift activity, incidents, interventions, and staffing concerns accurately and timely

\n
• \n

  Ensures completion of supervisor shift reports and event documentation

\n
• \n

  Provides timely communication and follow-up on emergent and operational matters

\n
• \n

  Escalates significant clinical, staffing, safety, and operational concerns to appropriate leadership

\n
• \n

  Models professional accountability, sound judgment, effective communication, and decisive leadership

\n

\n

Qualifications & Requirements

\n

Education

\n

\n
• \n

  Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) - required

\n
• \n

  Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred

\n

\n

Experience

\n

\n
• \n

  3-5+ years of nursing leadership experience, such as Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, or equivalent

\n
• \n

  Hospital or post-acute care experience preferred

\n

\n

Licensure & Certifications

\n

\n
• \n

  Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) License

\n
• \n

  BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association

\n
• \n

  ACLS Certification - required

\n

\n

Pay Range: $50.00 to $52.50 per hour
