Description Marcus Autism Center is seeking a doctoral‑level clinician specialized in Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) for medically complex children and children with autism. The position focuses on providing clinical care, case management, and supervision of post‑doctoral students, interns, and staff across intensive day treatment and outpatient programs. Children receive 1:1 intervention delivered by Feeding Technicians and Specialists in clinic settings at multiple Atlanta locations. We are seeking individuals who are interested in joining a dedicated team of professionals who provide the highest quality care to children with ARFID. The clinician will maintain their own caseload, work within a multidisciplinary treatment team that includes Nutrition, Speech‑Language Pathology, Medicine, Occupational Therapy and Care Coordination, and supervise trainees at Master’s, pre‑doctoral, and post‑doctoral levels. The clinician will also have opportunities for independent and/or collaborative research on feeding‑related topics. Successful candidates will possess a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology or a related field and may be Board Certified as a Behavior Analyst‑Doctoral (BCBA‑D). For psychologist candidates, completion of an APA‑accredited internship and a postdoctoral fellowship is preferred; all candidates must be license‑eligible to practice as a psychologist in the state of Georgia. Job Duties and Responsibilities This clinician supports and enhances the mission of the Division and of Children’s by providing high quality patient care in an effective and efficient manner. Clinical Service Provide effective delivery of services appropriate to the patient’s specific needs and severity level of disability or impairment. Develop and successfully implement assessment standards and treatment plans that support established goals. Document weekly/monthly treatment notes and assessment reports following established standards. Complete discharge and follow‑up according to departmental standards. Participate in and incorporate quality improvement and research findings into practice. Demonstrate and practice family‑centered care, including family/caregiver participation in all phases and communication at the patient/family level of understanding. Maintain a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family. Ensure timely documentation and communication to facilitate patient care and appropriate reimbursement. Provide supervision to allied health providers, fellows, interns, psychometrists, students and other staff as assigned. Commit to a model of care centered on inter‑professional and collaborative teams, minimize duplication and increase efficiency. Research Actively support research activities underway in the Multidisciplinary Feeding Program. Seek additional opportunities to support and lead research efforts as time and interest allow. Teaching Provide direct supervision for trainees, ensuring adequate opportunities for training through teaching, patient contact, case review, and research. Administrative Participate in meetings and activities required to support operations of the clinical area and the organization overall. Engage in activities that enhance professional development. Maintain any additional specialty training/certifications required by the assigned area. Participate in the development of departmental goals, including research, quality, and customer service initiatives. Reports to: Marcus Autism Center – Will Sharp, PhD, Program Director; Marcus Autism Center – Joanna Mevers, PhD, Clinical Director; Marcus Autism Center – Ami Klin, PhD, Division Chief and Center Director. Minimum Qualifications PhD or PsyD. License‑eligible or licensed to practice as psychologist in the state of Georgia. Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing as part of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Professional Staff. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients, families, and as a team member. Employment will be in the Emory + Children’s Pediatric Institute.
