Sanitation Tech - 3rd Shift

Position Summary Ensure the efficient and effective cleaning of production equipment and adjacent areas, in addition to other environments, following approved sanitary methods. Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the safe use of appropriate chemical solutions to ensure the cleanest and most highly sanitized equipment Ensure that all necessary safety precautions are followed in performing your responsibilities Responsible for following through on projects assigned Cleans equipment by using hot water hoses and/or high pressure soap hoses with temperatures up to 160 degrees Lifts, carries, pushes, or pulls parts or equipment with weights up to 100# or more Climbs ladders to clean spirals/equipment Possibly requires a forklift/pallet jack or manlift license for certain areas Tears equipment down and assists Production to put line back together Works with soaps and other cleaning compounds that can be toxic if not handled correctly Works in temperatures throughout plant averaging 50 degrees Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots or overshoes, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company Other duties as assigned Employee Safety Responsibilities Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and horseplay Use proper lifting techniques Use mechanical assistance (hand jack, forklift, manlift) Use personal assistance (buddy) Use handrails Use and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Temperatures throughout plant average 50 degrees. Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company. Need to comply with Food Safety: GMP’S, SSOP, SOP, HACCP, SQF, and Quality requirements. Position Qualifications Prefer High School Diploma/GED May require a forklift/pallet jack certification Ability to communicate effectively Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Continuously required to walk, stand, and handle – gross motor. Frequent reaching above shoulders and working with arms above or at shoulder height, body bending, hand twisting (both), and body twisting/rotating. Occasional kneeling, stooping, crouching/squatting, climbing stairs, pushing or pulling 60–100 pounds up to 100 ft, lifting 60–100 pounds up to a height of 3–5 ft, and fine motor of the fingers. Also able to work a hand jack, manlift and forklift. Will be exposed to loud industrial type environments commonly found at plants and working with power equipment. Also exposed to toxic chemicals.
