We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations for a contract assignment based in Columbus, Ohio. This Contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable handling transactional accounting tasks, maintaining accurate records, and working with both payables and receivables. The right candidate will bring strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and experience using accounting systems to keep financial processes running smoothly.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices accurately, assign appropriate coding, and prepare payments in line with established procedures.
• Record incoming customer payments, monitor open balances, and help maintain current and accurate accounts receivable records.
• Reconcile bank activity against internal financial records and investigate discrepancies to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Maintain organized accounting documentation and update financial information in QuickBooks and related systems.
• Assist with routine account reviews to support timely month-end close activities and accurate ledger maintenance.
• Communicate with internal teams and external contacts to resolve invoice issues, payment questions, and account variances.• Hands-on experience supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Ability to code invoices correctly and process a high volume of transactions with accuracy.
• Experience completing bank reconciliations and identifying exceptions in financial records.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks and comfort navigating accounting software on a daily basis.
• Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to stay organized in a deadline-driven environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
