Substitute Preschool Teacher

Responsibilities Follow the curriculum as scheduled during the time of coverage. Plan and implement learning experiences that advance the intellectual and physical development of children, including improving readiness for school by developing literacy, phonemic and print awareness, language use, vocabulary, book appreciation, and problem–solving abilities. Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment, including maintaining the required adult–to–child ratio and proper supervision at all times. Support the social and emotional development of children using positive guidance approaches to address challenging behaviors. Interact with children in an appropriate, supportive manner. Encourage the involvement of families in the Head Start program and help develop relationships between children and their families. Work effectively with other teacher(s) in the assigned classroom and center. Follow all Acelero Learning policies and procedures related to health, safety, nutrition, and other aspects of center operations. Ensure adherence to the assigned schedule by reporting to work on time and communicating proactively with the Center Director and Early Learning/Disabilities Specialist in the event of any changes. Participate in assigned meetings, events, and training as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Complete a physical exam and background check.
