Licensed Mental Health Therapist

Columbia Mental Health is seeking a compassionate, licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in Washington, DC. In this role, you will provide individualized, evidence-based psychotherapy to adults and adolescents experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions, including mood, anxiety, trauma-related, and personality disorders. You will conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, formulate diagnostic impressions, and develop collaborative treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals. As a core member of our multidisciplinary care team, you will work closely with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and other mental health professionals to deliver coordinated, holistic care. You will provide individual and, when appropriate, family or group therapy using advanced therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and other modalities aligned with best practices and your training. Sessions are delivered primarily in an outpatient setting, with a mix of in-person and telehealth services to support accessibility and continuity of care. The ideal candidate is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or similarly qualified licensed clinician in Washington, DC, with a strong foundation in clinical assessment and psychotherapy. You bring experience working with diverse populations, demonstrate cultural humility, and are comfortable managing a clinically appropriate caseload. You are organized, responsive, and able to balance direct clinical work with documentation and collaboration demands. In this full-time role you will typically maintain a schedule that balances direct patient care with team meetings, supervision, and administrative responsibilities.
