If you're ready to take ownership of projects and apply your technical expertise to complex roadway and transportation design challenges, this role is for you.What you'll doPerform transportation design for roadway, intersection, and corridor improvement projectsPrepare engineering calculations, roadway plans, quantity estimates, technical reports, and construction documentsLead permitting efforts and coordinate with local and state transportation agencies, including FDOT, GDOT, and other applicable jurisdictionsDevelop technical specifications and bid documents for transportation projectsManage and execute project tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goalsCoordinate with clients, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams throughout project deliveryPerform construction administration activities including site visits and coordination with contractorsUtilize MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GEOPAK, and related design software to develop and refine transportation designsWhat you bringBachelor's or Master's degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license5+ years of experience in transportation engineering and roadway designStrong experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GEOPAK, and/or InRoads software applicationsProgressive experience in planning, design, and permitting of transportation improvement projectsStrong understanding of roadway geometrics, transportation design standards, and construction plan developmentExperience preparing roadway plans, quantity calculations, technical reports, and construction documentsAbility to write technical specifications and bid documentsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with clientsProven ability to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize workflowStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlinesClient service-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a teamWhy Thomas & Hutton?Competitive salary plus performance bonusCondensed work schedule for better work-life balanceTop-tier health, dental, vision, and prescription coverage401(k), generous PTO, holidays, and tuition assistanceThomas & Hutton University and hands-on mentoring to advance your careerSchedule:On-site: Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.At Thomas & Hutton, our mission of "Building Relationships and Solutions for Success" shapes how we serve our clients, strengthen our communities, and invest in our team.
