Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift with 3x12 hour shifts.

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety as a priority.

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals based on patient diagnosis, collaborating with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Communicate patient information and status for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and effectively delegate tasks.
• Assure personal and environmental safety according to established policies.
• Engage in team building activities to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and supply management.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested and actively pursue professional development.

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (specific to designated location).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
• Minimum one (1) year of ICU experience is highly desired.
