Work Arrangement: Hybrid work schedule (at least 3 days per week on-site). May require working flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends.

Budgeted Salary: The budgeted hourly rate for this position is $42.00 to $46.00 per hour.

The School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) ( is the foundation of a liberal arts education at Stanford. The school encompasses 24 departments and 25 interdisciplinary programs. H&S is home to fundamental and applied research, where free, open, and critical inquiry is pursued across disciplines. As the university's largest school, H&S serves as the foundation of a Stanford undergraduate education no matter which discipline students pursue as a major. Department/Program Description:

American Studies, Feminist, Gender, & Sexuality Studies, and Modern Thought & Literature are separate interdisciplinary programs (IDPs) offering both undergraduate and graduate programs of study. We work with faculty from across the University who are interested in interdisciplinary study, and we attract vibrant and brilliant students and scholars who align with our research and teaching missions. The IDPs are part of a highly collaborative team across multiple units in a culture that encourages and supports opportunities for professional growth and provides a positive working experience.

Position Summary

The IDPs are seeking a Program Coordinator (PC) to provide logistical and administrative support in various functional areas for three distinct programs. The PC will work under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Student Services of the IDPs and will be responsible for supporting student programming and events, as well as reconciling and tracking financial expenses, to ensure the success of the research and teaching mission of the IDPs. The PC will be responsible for event activities such as publicity, room scheduling, travel arrangements, catering, and reconciliation and tracking of event related financial expenses. The PC will

also be responsible for updating program websites, databases, resource documents, etc. The PC must be able to work independently and in collaboration with university colleagues and partners to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills are required to successfully track and complete finances, events, and deadlines for three independent programs. Excellent written & oral communication skills are needed to interact effectively with students, faculty, and administrative staff across a range of topics and platforms. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can learn quickly, take ownership of tasks, and contribute effectively within a team setting.

This is a 100% FTE, one-year fixed-term, non-exempt position with potential one-year extension based on available funding. This position will be based on the Stanford campus and will be considered for an option of telecommuting (hybrid of working on-site and off-site), subject to operational need.

Preferred Requirements

Additional highly preferred qualifications for this position includes:

• Familiarity with or capacity to learn Canva and Adobe Creative Suite

• Experience in editing websites using a content management system (CMS)

• Experience in an academic or student-facing environment

• Comfort working across platforms such as Google Workspace and Slack.
