Cath Lab Technologist Opportunity in San Marcos, TX

Are you ready to take your expertise as a cardiovascular technologist to new heights? Join a hospital-based catheterization laboratory team in San Marcos, TX as a Cath Lab Tech (Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist). Support diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures by preparing the lab, maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring accurate patient documentation, and upholding sterile technique. Serve as a resource and preceptor for junior staff while contributing to patient safety and departmental efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Required: 2 years of Diagnostic, Interventional Radiology, or Cath/EP Lab experience in a hospital setting.
• Required: Current BLS certification (AHA only).
• Required: Current ACLS certification (AHA only).
• Required: One of the following certifications: RCIS (CCI), RCES (CCI), RCS (CCI), Radiography (R) by ARRT, Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) by ARRT, Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) by ARRT, Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) by ARRT, RDMS Abdomen (AB), RDMS OB/GYN, RDCS Adult Echocardiography (AE), or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS.
• Preferred: Associate's degree in cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, or related healthcare field.
• Required: State-specific licensing when applicable.
• Required for pediatric facilities: PALS certification to work/perform independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• ARRT certified Radiologic Technologist preferred.
• RCIS certification from CCI preferred when not already listed as required.
• Experience with advanced cath lab equipment and procedures such as IVUS, ICE, contrast injectors, hemodynamic systems, IABP, rotational atherectomy, thrombectomy, Impella, and LVAD support.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 07:00–15:00.
• Work schedule: 5 days, 8 hours per day.
• Role involves functioning as a preceptor and team resource for advanced procedures and technologies.

As a cath lab technologist in this role, you will support a variety of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, ensure major equipment readiness and documentation, maintain aseptic technique, record hemodynamic measurements and ECG data, and collaborate with the procedure team to uphold patient safety and departmental efficiency. You will participate in quality improvement efforts and serve as a clinical resource and preceptor to promote high standards of care.
