Elder Law and Estate Planning Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Elder Law and Estate Planning Attorney to join their team in Houston, TX. This role offers the opportunity to lead and expand the Elder Law practice, providing guidance on legal decisions related to aging, long-term care, and asset protection. Duties Advise clients on elder law, estate planning, Medicaid planning, and asset protection strategies. Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives. Develop long-term care and Medicaid qualification strategies. Conduct client consultations and document signing appointments. Build and maintain referral relationships with professionals in related fields. Participate in educational seminars and community outreach activities. Establish systems and best practices for the Elder Law division's growth. Deliver high-level client service and foster trust with clients and families. Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active member in good standing of the State Bar of Texas, or eligible for Texas licensure. Experience in elder law, estate planning, or related practice areas. Five years of related experience preferred. Strong legal writing, analytical, and client communication skills. Ability to manage matters independently and collaborate effectively. Interest in practice development and community engagement. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Certifications Active member of the State Bar of Texas or eligibility for Texas licensure. Skills Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
