Mechanical Estimator

Job Roles and Responsibilities
- Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents to perform detailed material and labor takeoffs.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project-related expenses.
- Develop and submit competitive bid proposals within required timelines.
- Solicit, evaluate, and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Maintain organized bid files, estimating databases, and project documentation.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs.
- Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure estimate accuracy and project alignment.
- Monitor market pricing, industry trends, mechanical codes, and safety regulations.
- Assist with project handoff activities following successful bid awards.
- 5+ years of commercial mechanical estimating experience.
- Experience estimating HVAC and mechanical construction projects.
- Government contracting experience preferred.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as QuoteSoft, FastPIPE, FastDUCT, Trimble, or similar platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, piping systems, and applicable building codes.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
