Virginia Licensed Speech-Language Assistant

To support students with communication challenges, the part-time Virginia Licensed Speech-Language Assistant will provide therapy services under supervision, develop progress reports, and ensure compliance with educational regulations while working remotely. Key responsibilities Implement speech and language services as outlined in each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) Communicate with parents and teachers to develop schedules that promote student participation and attendance Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and interventions Required qualifications Active speech-language pathology assistant license issued by the state department of education Associate's Degree in Speech Communication or a related field, along with two years of relevant work experience Knowledge of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requirements Ability to work independently for at least 20 hours per week during typical school hours Proficiency in MS365 and ability to clear a required background check
