Registered Nurse- Cardiac/Neuro

MHM Support Services

Position Details The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. The RN evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinates patient care collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. This position upholds patient rights, maintains confidentiality, and performs all duties in alignment with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards. Clinical Focus Focus on caring for the neurological population, including cerebrovascular accidents (CVAs), brain injury, seizures, acute mental status decline, post‑op day 2 craniotomy care, spinal injury and spinal surgical care, as well as caring for stable cardiac patients who have undergone procedures such as heart catheterization or pacemaker insertion. Responsibilities Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients. Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams and other departments. Uphold patient rights and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Perform duties and responsibilities in alignment with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards. Qualifications Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (associate's degree, diploma, or BSN). Licensure: Maintain a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure and meet all state board of nursing requirements. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) – required within 30 days of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse (CPHON) Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) Six Assessment & Care Modules Fetal Monitor Certification (C‑EFM) Other unit-specific certifications as required. Physical Requirements: Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
