King County Metro's Vehicle Maintenance Division is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to support our diverse Vehicle Maintenance workforce as a career service Technical Information Processing Specialist (TIPSIII).
The TIPS III position plays a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for our Vehicle Maintenance crews. This role involves managing a range of administrative and data functionsincluding entering, verifying, and tracking work order and labor data across multiple software platforms. The incumbent regularly pulls timekeeping reports, monitors hours worked and prepares payroll information using the PeopleSoft system. Success in this position requires a detail-oriented approach, proficiency with data systems, and a clear understanding of how payroll operations interface with maintenance workflows.

Candidates should be skilled in running reports, executing queries, and managing data across multiple databases. Note: This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) career service Transit Vehicle Maintenance Technical Information Processing Specialist III vacancy. In addition, this selection process may be used to generate an eligibility list for future career service, special duty assignment (SDA) and term limited temporary (TLT) vacancies that may occur in this classification within this workgroup. The eligibility list will be retained for 12 months from the date of posting and may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority. If hired from the eligibility list, applicants must be willing to work at any base location.

Work is performed 100% on-site. The current vacant position we are recruiting for is assigned to North Base (2160 N. 163rd St. Shoreline, WA 98133). Applicants must be able to work any King County base location.
The work schedule is day shift Monday through Friday, 6:00AM to 2:30PM. Work assignments occasionally involve working on alternate shifts. This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for overtime.
