Job Summary

OWL Services is hiring an IT Systems Administrator to own our Active Directory and Windows Server infrastructure while also supporting our Acumatica ERP environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience leading Active Directory cleanup and restructuring, with strong expertise in Windows Server across on-premises and Azure. This is a full-time, on-site role reporting to the IT Manager, requiring you to enforce standards, drive remediation, and operate effectively in M&A-driven environments while working independently and collaborating across teams. You'll also serve as the go-to resource for day-to-day Acumatica administration and support, following our migration from Sage Accpac.

Key Responsibilities

• Active Directory & Identity Ownership
  • Own AD architecture, health, and strategy across multiple domains
  • Lead AD cleanup/restructuring (OU design, GPOs, lifecycle)
  • Manage identity and access (service accounts, groups, Entra ID governance)
  • Enforce standards for naming, access, group design, and least-privilege
• Server & Infrastructure Management
  • Build, administer, and maintain Windows Server environments (on-prem and Azure)
  • Manage physical/virtual infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure, Scale) and lifecycle
  • Support modernization efforts, including migration to hybrid/cloud environments
• Patching, Configuration & Operations
  • Own server patching (NinjaOne); partner with IT Operations team on endpoint patching (Intune)
  • Maintain consistent configuration management (GPOs, baselines, policies) across environments
  • Develop PowerShell automation to improve efficiency and consistency
• Backup & Resilience
  • Own backup strategy and systems; ensure regular recovery testing for disaster recovery readiness
• Security & Remediation
  • Lead remediation of findings from audits, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure security and hardening standards
  • Administer and maintain security platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, Defender) in coordination with eSentire (SOC-as-a-Service)
• Acumatica ERP Administration
  • Administer and maintain the Acumatica ERP instance, including system configuration, screen customizations, and workflow automation
  • Manage Acumatica user roles and security configurations to enforce least-privilege access
  • Manage Acumatica license allocation and API/integration connections (SOAP/REST)
  • Monitor data integrity and integrations with third-party applications (EDI, payroll, field service tools, and similar)
  • Build and maintain Generic Inquiries (GIs), dashboards, and reports to support business reporting needs
  • Coordinate and test Acumatica version upgrades, patches, and hotfixes in a sandbox environment before rolling out to production
  • Provide Tier 1/2 support to end users, troubleshoot issues, and escalate to Acumatica support or implementation partners as needed
  • Support ongoing data cleanup and validation tied to the transition from Sage Accpac
  • Document system configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures
• Collaboration
  • Partner across finance, operations, IT Infrastructure, Applications, and Development teams to gather requirements and understand business needs
  • Communicate impacts and align priorities with business stakeholders
  • Operate independently while aligning with IT priorities and standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Windows Server and Active Directory environments, on-premises and in Azure
• Proven experience owning and redesigning Active Directory environments, not just supporting them, including AD cleanup/consolidation/restructuring, GPO design and standardization at scale, and managing multi-domain and/or M&A-driven environments
• Strong expertise in Active Directory (DNS, GPO, replication, trusts), identity & access management principles, and PowerShell automation
• Experience leading security remediation efforts from audits, vulnerability scans, or penetration tests
• Experience with hybrid identity (Entra ID / Azure AD Connect) and hybrid-joined environments
• Experience with infrastructure patching and configuration management, and backup/disaster recovery planning and validation
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, segmentation)
• Ability to manage projects and priorities independently, without constant supervision, and to collaborate effectively within a distributed IT team

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Acumatica ERP in a business setting; Acumatica Certified Professional a plus
• Direct experience migrating from Sage Accpac/Sage 300 to Acumatica
