Job Overview We are looking for someone passionate about the culinary arts to join our Culinary team. This individual must be creative, motivated, and eager to grow their talents in the kitchen. Successful candidates for this role will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong desire to learn, develop skills, and collaborate with culinary leadership to create menus reflecting seasonal availability and the restaurant’s concept. About our property: The Colony Hotel is located in a picturesque setting in Maine, offering 140 guest rooms and 10,000 sq ft of meeting space. As part of the Pyramid Global Hospitality portfolio, the hotel provides a professional environment that supports personal and professional development. Your Role You will develop your knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods (grill, sauté, and fry) You will have the opportunity to experience using knives and various kitchen equipment You will recreate recipes accurately You will maintain consistency in all food preparation You will learn how to minimize food waste through cross‑utilization You will work with a world‑class culinary team You will create workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment You will prepare ingredients for cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat) You will keep a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment You will ensure proper storage of all food and other items You will be responsible for the quality of ingredients What are we looking for? 1‑3 years of previous experience in a professional kitchen environment Active food handler’s certification or the ability to obtain it Willingness to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts Strong organizational skills Ability to work independently Capacity to stand for long periods Ability to lift at least 50 pounds Minimum age of 21 years A desire to exceed expectations Energetic personality Compensation Pyramid Global Hospitality is an equal opportunity employer.
