Honolulu's newest sports bar & grill is seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our team.

Nestled in the heart of Kakaako, Honolulu's most vibrant neighborhood, our restaurant has a unique concept, customers visit not only to relax with friends or watch live sports, but also to enjoy an omakase dinner at the sushi bar.

Responsibilities include all culinary tasks such as prep work, cooking, and plating, as well as management duties like inventory control and maintaining kitchen sanitation.

Maintain kitchen sanitation and safety standards

Ensure ingredient quality and freshness

Handle all prep work and cooking

Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed

Train and supervise assistant sushi chefs

Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations

Position: Sushi Chef

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Location: Honolulu, Hawaii

Hours: 40 hours per week (shift schedule including weekends and holidays)

Overtime: Generally, none

Compensation: $16-$22 per hour + tips (approx. 10-20%) (Determined based on experience, skills, and previous salary)

Experience as a Japanese cuisine or Sushi Chef

Proficient knife skills for precise cutting and slicing of ingredients

Knowledge and practical experience in food hygiene and safety management

In-depth knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and Japanese cuisine preferred

Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment

Excellent customer service skills and etiquette

Valid Hawaii Food Handlers Card

Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
