Locum General Orthopedic Surgery Physician

We are seeking a Locum General Orthopedic Surgeon for a full-time, approximately 6-month assignment in Berlin, NH while a permanent provider is recruited. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a supportive rural healthcare system with an established referral base and a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Position Details

Schedule:Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)

Operating Room:Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Clinic:Tuesday and Friday

Call: Shared call rotation with approximately 10 days of call per month

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of general orthopedic conditions.

Perform a broad range of orthopedic surgical procedures.

Manage outpatient clinic visits, surgical cases, inpatient consultations, and follow-up care.

Participate in shared call coverage for orthopedic emergencies.

Collaborate with primary care providers and other specialists to deliver high-quality patient care.

Required Experience

Total joint replacement surgery, including hip, knee, and shoulder replacements (required)

Management of a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries and degenerative conditions

Comfortable caring for an aging patient population

Experience with common hand conditions, including trigger finger and carpal tunnel syndrome, is preferred

Experience evaluating and managing spine and back pain is highly preferred

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school

Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery

Active New Hampshire medical license or ability to obtain one quickly

Current American Heart Association BLS certification
