SHIPPING SUPERINTENDENT

Principle Responsibilities: Manages A and B shift in all activities associated with warehousing of finished goods and shipping operations. Coordinates warehouse operations in support of production by maintaining finished goods and dry goods inventory levels on all shifts. Responsible for accurate inventory control of finished goods, quality checks and documentation of all outbound shipments. Responsible for monitoring the condition, temperature and codes on all trailers containing product ready for shipment. Coordinates production, warehouse, purchasing, and shipping activities to achieve facility objectives. Reviews and implements policies to improve customer service. Keeps facility management well informed of daily activities and provides recommendations for areas of improvement.

• Ensures all company policies are followed and has an expert knowledge of company policies including safety.
• Ensure all procedures are being followed according to official standard operating procedures
• Assumes responsibility for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of Shipping functions.
• Coordinates the order process of all supplies to ensure production schedules are met.
• Coordinates all outbound shipments, schedule pickups and efficiently processes all Sales Orders.
• Supervises all warehousing activity and inventory control for the facility by accurately maintaining finished goods inventories within the WMS.
• Ensures that dry goods and raw material inventory is maintained at optimal levels to meet production demand.
• Ensures the rotation of inventory and first in, first out.
• Ensures that picking, staging of orders and inventory functions are completed in accordance with established safety and facility quality standards.
• Ensures problems that involve damaged goods, incorrect orders, and missing goods are resolved in a timely manner.
• Communication to proper management regarding any issues.
• Ensures receiving functions are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensures that established safety and quality standards are met.
• Ensures that schedules and deadlines are followed.
• Maintains effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and management.
• Directs, assists, coordinates, and supports Shipping Clerks as needed.
• Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems. Identifies problems and provides suggestions.
• Ensure team compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain product quality and sanitation standards.
• Ensures that shipping, receiving, put away and production functions are completed in accordance with established safety, and quality standards.
• Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well-maintained.
• Completed special projects as assigned
• Read and analyze work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
• Plan orders in system/track inventory
• Lead culture change within the plant to achieve engaged employees at all levels of the organization. Create a positive working environment for all with goal of making JBS the employer of choice in the community.

Qualifications:

• Good interpersonal relations; ability to handle conflict.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead a group
• Manage individual employee objectives as well as team performance and building a team approach to problem solving

Requirements:

• Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education; A college degree in Business Management or related field or Meat/Food Science is preferred
• Experience: 2-3 years proven supervisory experience in the food industry; industry-specific experience encouraged
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment applying common processes, procedures and equipment. Experience managing in a chilled food manufacturing business preferred.
  • Must have a good understanding of continuous improvement production techniques and use the tools to deliver improved performance.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

• Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
• Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
• 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
• Base salary range of $67,000-$100,000
• This position is eligible to participate in the Company's annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program
