Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA is currently hiring a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for a Full Time, Rotating Shift.

This role follows a structured 5-week rotating schedule that includes days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Over the 5-week rotation, employees work 14 days and are off 21 days. A sample schedule is outlined below to illustrate typical hours and days worked:

• Week 1: Off Sunday Wednesday; Work Thursday - Saturday, 7am 7pm (36 hours)
• Week 2: Work Sunday Tuesday, 7am 7pm; Off Wednesday Saturday (36 hours)
• Week 3: Off Sunday Wednesday; Work Thursday, 7am 7pm, work Friday Saturday, 7pm 7am (36 hours)
• Week 4: Work Sunday, 7pm 7am; off Monday - Saturday (12 hours)
• Week 5: Off Sunday; Work Monday Thursday, 10:30am 9pm; Off Friday Saturday (40 hours)

Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures in ambulatory setting requiring independent judgment, under the direction of a qualified physician. Proficient in preliminary structural reporting. Performs Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Tech I responsibilities in addition to one of the following: Interventional, DVT, or Hospital Based/Standing ED.

Conducts general diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: scanning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology, operation of sonography equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment/medications, and maintains adequate supply inventory. Explains examination and procedure to patient and completes departmental documentation. Competent in use and logging of infection control equipment.

Education:

• Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, related field, or completion of a training program acceptable to the ARRT or ARDMS registry boards (Required)

Certification/Licensure:

• ARRT or ARDMS (Required)
• BLS

Experience:

• 2 years of related sonography experience (Strongly Preferred)
