Job Title: Entry Level Maintenance Technician
Job Description

This position is for a Maintenance Technician within a food processing company where you will work with high-speed packaging, sizing, hopping, splitting, and shaping equipment for chicken products, including frozen, chilled, or partially fried items. The role involves both preventative maintenance and troubleshooting/repairing, working 70% mechanically and 30% electrically, with tasks involving electrical panels and up to 480v.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of maintenance to ensure the facility is running smoothly for production.
• Operate under GMP standards and adhere to all health and safety protocols.
• Experience with high-speed packaging equipment and the ability to solve related issues.
• Safely handle 480v and other electrical issues as they arise.
• Follow the preventative maintenance plan as directed by the manager.

Essential Skills

• Completion of Trade School with a focus on industrial electric; Coyne College is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Capability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical problems.
• Experience with 480v, 3 Phase systems, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and high-speed packaging.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Own basic set of tools (not mandatory for entry-level).
• Knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and schematics.
• High School Diploma or Technical School preferred but not required.

Work Environment

The facility is a large operation with over 400 employees working across two shifts. It features multiple loading docks, with a stock inventory that moves through sizing, splitting, cutting, and frying processes before usually being instantly frozen. The maintenance team comprises one Manager, three Supervisors, one Assistant Supervisor, and seventeen Technicians.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FRANKLIN PARK, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $26.00/hr.
