Elmira College was the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and is home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies.Elmira College Speech and Hearing Clinic seeks a compassionate, skilled, and student- centered Audiologist to provide high-quality hearing healthcare services to individuals in the Elmira College and greater Twin Tiers communities. The Audiologist will conduct diagnostic audiological and auditory processing disorder evaluations, provide evidence-based recommendations, manage hearing clinic operations, and contribute to the academic and clinical education of undergraduate students in Communication Sciences and Disorders.This position includes clinical service delivery, clinic management, student supervision, community outreach, and teaching two courses per semester within the Communication Sciences and Disorders program.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSConduct comprehensive audiological evaluations for children, adults, and older adults.Conduct auditory processing disorder evaluations, including appropriate test selection, interpretation, reporting, counseling, and recommendations.Provide counseling to patients and families regarding hearing loss, auditory processing concerns, hearing conservation, communication strategies, and treatment options.Recommend, fit (with Real Ear Measures), program, and manage hearing technology, including hearing aids and assistive listening devices, as appropriate.Provide follow-up care, hearing aid checks, troubleshooting, and patient education.Manage the daily operations of the hearing clinic, including clinical workflow, scheduling coordination, equipment needs, documentation processes, and quality assurance.Develop and support marketing, outreach, and community engagement efforts to promote hearing clinic services.Build relationships with local schools, healthcare providers, community agencies, and referral partners to increase awareness of clinic services.Teach two courses per semester in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program or related areas, based on departmental needs and candidate expertise.Supervise, teach, and mentor undergraduate students participating in clinical observation, practicum, or related educational experiences.Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with professional, institutional, and regulatory standards.Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, faculty, staff, students, and community partners to support comprehensive communication services.Participate in departmental meetings, program initiatives, accreditation-related activities, and student advising or support as appropriate.Remain current with best practices, professional standards, and developments in audiology, auditory processing, and hearing healthcare.QUALIFICATIONSDoctor of Audiology degree, Au.D., or equivalent professional degree in audiology.Current or eligible New York State licensure in audiology.Experience conducting diagnostic audiological evaluations.Knowledge and experience in auditory processing disorder assessment.Knowledge of hearing aid technology, hearing conservation, and aural rehabilitation.Ability to teach undergraduate courses in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related areas.Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, documentation, and leadership skills.Commitment to ethical, inclusive, and patient-centered clinical care.Ability to work effectively with diverse patients, families, students, faculty, staff, and community partners.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology, CCC-A, or eligibility.Prior experience in a university, college, clinic, hospital, private practice, or community-based audiology setting.Experience managing or coordinating clinic operations.Experience supervising or mentoring students.Experience teaching at the undergraduate level.Familiarity with electronic health records or clinical documentation systems.Experience with marketing, outreach, referral development, or community education.Experience working with pediatric and adult populations.WORK LOCATION: On-siteCOMPENSATION: $70,000 annually with 25% commission on hearing aid sales.This position is benefit eligible.STATUS: ExemptTO APPLY: Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and resume to View email address on click.appcast.io you require alternative methods of application or screening, please contact the Office of Human Resources directly by emailing View email address on click.appcast.io, or by calling View phone number on click.appcast.io.Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
