OverviewThe Regional Food Bank is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Volunteer Engagement Specialist to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will collaborate with individual and group volunteers, as well as fellow Volunteer Department staff, to support our mission. Each year, over 20,000 volunteers contribute their time to our cause.The successful candidate is someone who is:Dependable and has a strong work ethicEnergetic, good with people, and a team playerAble to communicate various instructions coherently and provide an educational component to volunteers (training on topic provided)Become savvy in the use of CERVIS, a volunteer scheduling software program (training provided)Able to correspond with and schedule high volumes of volunteers on a daily basisAble to work in a physically active, fast-paced environmentAble to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basisAble to work in a warehouse where temperatures fluctuateResponsible for opening and closing the buildingAvailable weekdays, weeknights and one weekend day on a prearranged scheduleAble to receive a forklift operator's license with training provided by the Food BankAble to provide own steel-toe shoesCommitted to the cause of hunger relief and serious about working hard for a good causeThis is a permanent full-time position consisting of 40 hours per week as follows:Sunday 7:30 am – 4:00 pmMonday 12:30 pm – 9:00 pmTuesday 7:30 am – 4:00 pmWednesday 12:30 pm – 9:00 pmThursday 7:30 am - 4:00 pmMinimum Qualifications:Must be 18 years of age or older.Possess a valid New York State driver's license.High School or equivalent diploma.1 year related experience.Prior experience operating power equipment in a warehouse setting preferred.Physical Requirements: This position works in a typical warehouse setting and will be exposed to extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions. There will be extended periods of standing, bending, lifting, balancing, and handling materials. This position would normally have routine opportunities for the employee to be able to alter their physical position or change eye focus. This position will require the safe use of power equipment.
