Oracle Cloud Payroll Functional Consultant Location: Newark, NJ, USA – Full Time – 40 Weekly Hours Overview This role involves leading the implementation and continuous improvement of the Oracle Cloud HCM Payroll application to enhance business processes. The consultant will independently provide quality work products, perform varied and complex duties, and implement the Oracle HCM Payroll product to meet business needs, particularly in the transportation industry. Responsibilities Lead the business team through the project life cycle, emphasizing best‑practice process adoption. Facilitate business requirements meetings, drive decisions, and produce actionable deliverables. Design processes and prepare the solution Blueprint for implementation. Work with project teams and business stakeholders to configure Oracle HCM Cloud Payroll, Benefits, Absence Management, and Time & Labor modules. Demonstrate solution approaches through proof‑of‑concept or conference‑room pilot to secure business approval before moving to design or development. Develop functional designs, configuration workbooks, and configure payroll, benefits, and absence modules in close cooperation with business teams. Coordinate design and configuration with other functional leads across the Oracle Cloud HCM implementation scope. Assist in converting legacy payroll data and collaborating with integration consultants to build, configure, and test integrations between Payroll and third‑party/custom solutions. Lead testing efforts, prepare test cases, and verify solution functionality with users. Provide super‑user and end‑user training on Oracle HCM Cloud Payroll, Benefits, and Absence Management modules. Oversee post‑go‑live support, including troubleshooting, resolution, and ensuring accurate file transmission to vendors. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Oracle HCM Cloud with multiple implementation projects in Payroll, Absence Management, and Time & Labor modules. 10+ years of implementing HCM Payroll solutions as a payroll consultant, managing end‑to‑end HR technology implementations. Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Functional Lead in North American Payroll implementations. Hands‑on experience configuring payroll, benefits, absence, and time & labor modules. Deep understanding of payroll requirements, tax regulations, and North American regulatory requirements. Proficiency in payroll processing, troubleshooting, quarterly upgrades, and end‑of‑year activities, including Fast Formula, extracts, HDL, BI Publisher, and OTBI reporting. Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills. Expertise in Payroll cloud tax update activities, parallel testing, and integration points with GL. Experience developing new payroll interfaces with third‑party systems and knowledge of Oracle Payroll cloud tables. Prior consulting experience with a consulting or systems integration organization. Oracle Cloud Payroll Certification preferred. Additional Skills (Required) Payroll cloud tax update activities and testing after each tax update – 7+ years experience. Payroll parallel testing – 7+ years experience. Payroll processing and troubleshooting – 7+ years experience.
