HR Lead - Global Hedge Fund - up to $500k total comp (New York City Metropolitan Area)

Our client, a high-performing, multi-billion-dollar AUM global hedge fund, is looking to hire an HR Generalist Lead to join its growing New York platform.

The firm has doubled in size over the past few years, and is now looking to establish a dedicated HR function to support that growth, with the first hire being this newly created HR Generalist Lead position sitting close to the investment side of the business. This will take ownership of a broad remit, partnering closely with portfolio managers, analysts and traders on the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through performance, comp cycles and exits. Employment law expertise will be central to the role, covering restrictive covenants, multi-state compliance and sensitive employee relations matters, and the hire will work directly with the CFO and General Counsel on compensation benchmarking and year-end review. The position carries significant autonomy and genuine ownership of how HR operates day to day in New York.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of experience in an HR generalist role. Knowledge of employment law across New York and ideally multi-state jurisdictions is desirable. Prior exposure to financial services, asset management or another regulated, high-compensation environment is important, as is the ability to build credibility quickly with senior portfolio managers, analysts and traders.

The role offers total compensation of up to $500k, alongside a strong discretionary bonus structure and one of the more competitive benefits packages in the hedge fund space.
