Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Cardiology

. This contract, on-site position offers an opportunity to provide high-quality cardiovascular care within a dynamic clinical environment serving the Sebring community.

As a Locum Cardiologist, you will deliver comprehensive patient evaluations, diagnose cardiovascular conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans. You will work closely with the existing clinical team to ensure continuity of care, support patient outcomes, and uphold the highest standards of medical practice in the Medical Practice industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cardiology consultations, examinations, and patient assessments
• Diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and heart failure
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Interpret diagnostic tests such as ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac imaging
• Order, review, and follow up on laboratory and diagnostic studies
• Prescribe medications and manage ongoing cardiac care for patients
• Coordinate care with primary care physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in the electronic health record
• Counsel patients and families on cardiovascular health, risk reduction, and lifestyle modification
• Adhere to clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship
• Board certification in Cardiovascular Disease (or eligibility) by the American Board of Internal Medicine
• Current, unrestricted state medical license in Florida
• Active DEA registration and valid board certification as required by the facility
• Proficiency in cardiac diagnostics, including echocardiography and interventional procedures where applicable
• Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic reasoning, and patient-centered communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to new practice environments and work independently as a locum provider
• Experience with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation standards
• Commitment to continuing medical education and maintaining current clinical knowledge

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-4p

Weeknight beeper call shifts preferred

Setting: Primarily inpatient, some outpatient

Daily Volume: ~20 new consults

Support Staff: 8 General Cardiologists

Must be board-certified
