As a generalist, you are a jack of all trades with a strong technical background in art. You enjoy problem-solving and can provide innovative art solutions beyond traditional roles, understanding the entire art pipeline. You are independent and capable of running projects with minimal guidance.**In order to be considered, youMUSTprovide us with either a link to an online portfolio, website, or a PDF showcasing recent artwork upon application.RESPONSIBILITIESCreate beautiful and efficient 3D characters, props, and environments.Light environment scenes, both real-time and pre-baked.Create shaders in Unity and Maya.Occasionally rig and skin props and characters.Foresee technical issues with concept designs.Establish art pipelines for new features and asset types.Write comprehensive documentation on best practices.Work closely with the 3D Art Director daily.Collaborate with Tech Art and Engineering on art implementation.Troubleshoot visual issues in Maya and Unity.Attend occasional in-person critical meetings, despite remote work.REQUIREMENTS5+ years of experience in 3D game development.Modeling, texturing, lighting, rigging, skinning, and shader development skills.Experience on at least two 3D games from start to finish, including mobile.Mastery of Maya and Adobe Creative Suite.Excellent knowledge of Unity.Experience with ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Designer.Real-time lighting experience and mastery in light baking.Ability to work across various styles and subjects.Strong understanding of Environment and Character art processes.Good knowledge of human and animal anatomy.Strong grasp of composition, color, value, and form in both art and gameplay visuals.Understanding of the 3D pipeline in game development and experience collaborating with engineering and design teams.Excellent problem-solving skills.Art degree or equivalent experience.NICE TO HAVEStrong 2D concept and illustration skills.Scripting experience in Maya (Mel or Python).Compensation for this role ranges from $75,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience and other factors.
