Number of Beds: 33 rooms, up to 49 patients with some semi-private rooms

Number of Staff: 62

Type of staff: Day Shift 2 charge, 2 techs, 6-7 RNs Night Shift 1 charge, 1.5 tech, 5-6 RNs

Patient Ratios: 4:1 day, 5:1 night

Type of equipment: telemetry monitoring EMR - Meditech

Skill Set: Most recruited for: Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

Minimum 1-year current acute care hospital Med/Surg experience

BLS

Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.

Worked with sci (spinal cord injury) ACLS

List typical procedures performed on unit(s): Wound care and occasional bowel program Occasional bowel program and light burn care

Best personality Fit: RNs that like a busy floor Patient care experience is a priority

We are a busy medical floor with specialty in caring for surgical flap patients: spinal cord injury patients with stage 4 wounds that require surgical intervention. We partner with our burn unit and care for low acuity burn patients. We do use some semi-private rooms when hospital census gets high, and we need to. (not our preferred way of doing business)
