Position – Packager / Forklift Operator

Job Location – Eau Claire, WI

Starting Date – Immediate

Employment Term – Long-Term Temporary to Hire

Employment Type – Full-Time

Work Hours (Shift) – 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Starting Pay – $22.00 per hour

Required Education – High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Required Experience – Previous manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, packaging, material handling, or forklift experience preferred

As a Packager / Forklift Operator, you will help prepare finished products for shipment while keeping materials and inventory moving throughout the manufacturing facility. This position combines hands-on packaging, shipping preparation, inventory handling, and forklift operation in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Package finished products according to customer and shipping requirements
• Verify product quantities, part numbers, labels, and packaging specifications
• Assemble cartons, crates, pallets, and protective packaging materials
• Label, identify, and stage finished goods for shipment or storage
• Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Load and unload materials, products, and shipments
• Move materials and inventory throughout the manufacturing facility
• Inspect products and packaging for damage, quality concerns, or discrepancies
• Complete packaging, shipping, inventory, and production documentation accurately
• Perform routine forklift and material handling equipment inspections
• Report equipment or maintenance concerns as needed
• Work with Production, Shipping, Inventory, and Operations teams to keep materials flowing efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles
• Follow established safety procedures and safe material handling practices
• Assist with additional production, warehouse, or shipping duties as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, packaging, or material handling experience preferred
• Previous forklift operating experience preferred
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification required
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing or warehouse environment is a plus
• Experience with barcode scanners, inventory systems, or ERP/MRP systems preferred
• Basic computer and documentation skills
• Basic math and inventory counting skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and consistent attendance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing and warehouse environment
• Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and material handling
• Frequent movement throughout production, warehouse, and shipping areas
• Regular use of forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Must be comfortable performing hands-on packaging and material handling duties throughout the shift
