Lead Technician: Curriculum Aligned Materials
The Lead Technician ensures AACPS educators and students have reliable access to high-quality, standards-aligned instructional materials that support effective teaching and learning. By maintaining inventory systems, overseeing digital integrations, and coordinating curriculum material reviews, the role strengthens the infrastructure needed for consistent and equitable instruction across all schools. The position also builds staff capacity by training school-based personnel and supporting digital product use, directly advancing the Strategic Plan priority of Investing in Our Staff. Ultimately, the Lead Technician drives operational excellence that underpins Achieving Academic Excellence, ensuring instructional resources are accurate, accessible, and aligned to district expectations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Operates and maintains the Textbook Inventory Management System, the Textbook Ordering System, and the Instructional Materials Review platform.
- Trains Textbook Managers and Department Chairpersons on the use of both inventory systems.
- Updates inventory item records to reflect contract changes and apply corresponding modifications within connected applications.
- Supports the Manager of Curriculum Aligned Materials Office with the review process for curriculum-aligned materials.
- Prepares documents and maintain databases tracking materials under review throughout each stage of the review process.
- Supports Functional Managers with the implementation and maintenance of their digital products.
- Manages license allocations within the administrative rostering platform to ensure accurate provisioning and seamless access to digital platforms for purchased curriculum-aligned materials.
- Provides User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support for identified functional managers testing curriculum aligned materials.
- Serves as the primary technical liaison between digital product vendors and AACPS functional managers, ensuring clear communication and smooth coordination during implementation and ongoing product support.
- Facilitates the maintenance and optimization of instructional digital products by relaying issues, updates, and enhancement needs between vendors and functional managers, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with AACPS operational and instructional priorities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in business or related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
- Five (5) years relevant experience in an office or school environment required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.

- Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred). For new permanent secretarial/clerical/technician hires, a minimum score on a pre-employment assessment is required.
