Health Insurance Premiums covered 90% by employer Deductible covered 100% by employer Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist supports the effective operation and growth of MHAST by coordinating day-to-day human resources functions, including recruitment and workforce administration, employee relations and performance management, benefits and leave administration, and HR compliance. Working closely with the Director of Operations & Compliance, the Human Resources Generalist serves as a key organizational resource for employees and supervisors by coordinating recruitment and onboarding, maintaining personnel records, supporting employee performance and relations processes, administering benefits and leave activities, and helping ensure consistent application of agency policies and employment requirements. This position plays an integral role in supporting a positive and effective workplace, strengthening employee engagement and retention, maintaining accurate and compliant personnel practices, and ensuring employees and supervisors have the HR support and resources needed to effectively carry out MHAST's mission. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Recruitment & Workforce Administration · Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, reference checks, and hiring logistics. · Responsible for maintaining and administering employee information and HR processes within the HCM. · Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, including new hire paperwork, orientation schedules, employee file management, exit processes, and related personnel documentation. · Maintain accurate job descriptions, organizational staffing records, and other workforce documentation. · Track open positions, hiring activity, vacancies, and other workforce needs. · Support supervisors and leadership throughout recruitment, selection, hiring, and employee transition processes. · Support the Director of Operations & Compliance with recruitment, workforce planning, and general human resources administration. Employee Relations & Performance Management · Support supervisors and employees with day-to-day employee relations matters, workplace concerns, and personnel questions. · Coordinate employee performance evaluation processes and maintain related documentation. · Assist supervisors with performance improvement plans, coaching documentation, corrective actions, and disciplinary processes. · Support the review and documentation of employee complaints, workplace concerns, and policy violations. · Coordinate and support internal employee investigations under the direction of the Director of Operations & Compliance. · Promote consistent application of agency policies, procedures, and performance expectations across programs and departments. · Provide routine HR guidance and support to supervisors regarding employee performance, attendance, conduct, and workplace expectations, escalating complex or significant matters to the Director of Operations & Compliance. · Support the Director of Operations & Compliance with complex employee relations, disciplinary, and performance matters. Benefits, Leave & Employee Support · Coordinate employee enrollment, changes, and documentation related to agency benefit programs. · Serve as a resource for employees regarding benefits, eligibility, enrollment processes, and general benefit questions. · Coordinate employee leave processes, including FMLA, Paid Family Leave, disability, workers' compensation, and other applicable leave programs. · Maintain accurate records related to employee leave, benefits, and required supporting documentation. · Track employee leave dates, return-to-work requirements, restrictions, and required certifications. · Coordinate employee communications regarding benefit enrollment periods, plan changes, leave requirements, and related deadlines. · Work with benefit providers, insurance carriers, payroll providers, and other external partners to resolve employee benefit and leave issues. · Support the Director of Operations & Compliance with benefits administration, leave management, and employee support activities. HR Compliance & Personnel Administration · Maintain personnel records and employee documentation in accordance with agency policies and federal, state, and regulatory requirements. · Track employee credentialing requirements, certifications, required trainings, performance evaluations, and compliance deadlines. · Maintain required employment documentation, notices, acknowledgments, and personnel forms. · Assist with the development, review, implementation, and communication of human resources policies and procedures. · Monitor HR practices for compliance with applicable federal and New York State employment laws and regulatory requirements. · Coordinate required background checks, screenings, and employment-related clearances. · Assist with unemployment claims, employment verification requests, audits, and required workforce reporting. · Monitor personnel files and HR records for completeness, accuracy, confidentiality, and appropriate retention. · Support preparation for HR-related audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance monitoring activities. · Support the Director of Operations & Compliance with HR compliance, policy administration, risk management, and regulatory requirements. Training & Employee Development · Coordinate employee training activities, including scheduling, registration, communication, and training logistics. · Track completion of required agency, regulatory, and position-specific trainings and monitor upcoming renewal or expiration dates. · Maintain accurate employee training records, certificates, and related documentation within the HCM and personnel records. · Coordinate new hire training requirements and work with supervisors to ensure employees complete required trainings within established timeframes. · Assist with identifying training needs and coordinating professional development opportunities for employees. · Communicate upcoming training requirements, deadlines, and available opportunities to employees and supervisors. · Support the Director of Operations & Compliance with agency-wide training coordination, tracking, and employee development initiatives.
