Quality Assurance Technician

Job TitleThis position is responsible for checking and verifying in process product and finished goods, utilizing a variety of tests and testing equipment to ensure that all produced goods meet or exceed customer standards.Job ResponsibilitiesJob responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:Collect samples from production for testingPrepare samples into specimens for testingPerform testing on specimensAbility to attend training as requiredParticipate in the internal audit process, certification and auditing of products, processes, quality management policies, etc. following the execution of the work, in order to receive, manage and disseminate audit resultsWork overtime as neededAll other duties as assignedJob SpecificationsEducation:High School Diploma or GED equivalency is requiredExperience:1+ year of relevant quality inspection experience is preferredSkills and Abilities:Ability to navigate work instruction system (CEBOS)Capable of doing multiple tasksOrganizational skillsGood troubleshooting skillsStrong technical/mechanical aptitudeMust be able to function as a member of a team and be able to work under general supervisionSelf-starter capable of operating independentlyMust be able to maintain expected quality levelsComply with all site required policies and proceduresPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Employee is required to execute the following:Withstand the rigors of a 12-hour shiftStand for approximately 95% of the timeBending, reaching, pushing and pulling when retrieving and moving various itemsSquatting / crouching when retrieving items, making equipment / product inspections, etc.Must perform duties requiring use of small hand toolsPossible exposure to elements requiring the production of finished goodsMust be able to perform detailed repetitive movement of hands and armsLift up to 50 pounds periodically without assistanceWork at varying heightsExposure to high heat and/or coldClean work areas and maintain a clean work environment; perform 5S cleaning activities as requiredEquipment UsedComputers, Calipers and gauges, Mills, Presses, Basic hand tools and measuring tools, Lab equipment, Scales, Office equipment, Hand Tools, Production equipmentWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The duties of this position are performed throughout the entire floor space of Alkegen.Duties are performed primarily in manufacturing areas where compliance with applicable safety rules is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work near moving mechanical parts and exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
