General Production Worker Electronic Assembly

This role focuses on electronic assembly of switches used in military, government, agriculture, and healthcare applications. You will work with small components and precision hand tools to build and assemble parts, place components onto printed circuit boards, and ensure each product meets quality and performance standards. The position requires strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work efficiently at an individual workstation.

Responsibilities

• Perform electronic assembly of switches for use in military, government, agriculture, and healthcare products.
• Handle small parts and components with precision, using good hand-eye dexterity to ensure accurate placement.
• Use hand tools and power tools to build and assemble various component parts according to specifications.
• Gather and organize all materials needed for each assembly task or production run.
• Place and secure components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) using small and precision hand tools.
• Work at an individual workstation, maintaining a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
• Stand and sit for extended periods during the day while maintaining focus and attention to detail.
• Follow written work instructions, diagrams, and production standards to complete assemblies correctly and on time.
• Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality and consistency in all assembled products.
• Adhere to all manufacturing procedures, safety guidelines, and quality control processes.
• Cooperate with temperature screening and other health and safety protocols at the beginning and end of shifts.

Essential Skills

• Experience working with small parts and components, demonstrating strong hand-eye dexterity.
• Ability to use small precision hand tools for assembly work, including tools used on printed circuit boards.
• Comfort working with hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to closely follow instructions and assembly specifications.
• Ability to stand and sit for extended periods during the shift while maintaining focus on repetitive tasks.
• Reliability and willingness to work significant overtime, currently 34 hours of overtime daily (approximately 50-60 hours per week).
• Capability to work either 1st shift (approximately 6:00 a.m. 2:30 p.m., with openness to starting at 5:30 a.m.) or 2nd shift (3:45 p.m. 12:15 a.m.), as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Solder certification is a plus and may enhance opportunities, though it is not required.
• Experience with soldering and electronic assembly is highly beneficial.
• Previous pick-and-place machine experience is an advantage and may influence pay rate.
• Background in general manufacturing, production, or assembly work is helpful.
• Ability to work independently at a workstation while meeting expected results without close supervision.

Work Environment

You will work in a manufacturing environment organized into long rows, each with approximately five workstations. The culture is relaxed but results-oriented, with expectations that you understand your tasks and complete your work efficiently. The setting involves regular use of hand tools and power tools at your station, and you will spend much of the day standing or sitting while performing detailed assembly work. Health and safety protocols include temperature checks and brief medical questions upon arrival and again toward the end of the shift to help maintain a safe workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Grange, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.40 - $15.40/hr.
