divh2Litigation Legal Admin Assistant Job Description/h2pA Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) is responsible for assisting in day-to-day operations of attorney practices, including carrying out administrative services, providing support to practice group(s) to which the LAA is assigned, and ensuring that attorneys are able to provide exceptional service to their clients. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, exceptional problem solving skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace. Will also assist attorneys in the drafting, execution and delivery of documents required to form, merge or acquire, maintain or dissolve business entities/ppstrongEssential Duties:/strong/pulliMaintains regular and punctual attendance./liliWrites, proofreads, sends, files, and manages correspondence, memos, pleadings, contracts, forms, indices, and other related documents./liliReceives, reads, and routes incoming mail./liliTranscribes dictation./liliAnswers telephone and routine questions. Routes calls as needed to appropriate members within the organization./liliManages appointments and maintains updated contacts./liliCalendars all relevant deadlines./li/ulpstrongOther Responsibilities:/strong/pulliPrepare attorney confirmation letters upon request by clients/liliRespond to client requests/liliAssist with due diligence in mergers and acquisitions/liliPrepare, search, review and file Uniform Commercial Code filings/liliOrder and review certificates of good standing for business entities/liliPrepare stock certificates for business entities/liliObtain federal employer ID numbers from the Internal Revenue Service for business entities and pension plans/liliPrepare annual resolutions for business entities/liliPrepare and file documents/liliAssist with charitable registrations/liliAssist with preparation and filing of franchise registrations/liliPerforms other work-related duties as assigned and appropriate for specific area(s) of law as assigned./liliAttends staff meetings./liliAssists other LAAs as needed with workload./liliUpdates job knowledge by participating in ongoing educational opportunities, including but not limited to reading professional publications./liliFurthers organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests as well as exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments./li/ulpJob Requirements:/ppstrongEducation, Experience and Skills Required:/strong/pulliLitigation: 3 years (Required)/liliLegal: 3 years (Required)/liliReporting and research skills./liliAdvanced verbal and written skills including strong command of spelling, punctuation, and grammar./liliInterpersonal skills to maintain strong client and co-worker relationships./liliHighly organized and has acute attention to detail./liliConfidential./liliDependable./liliTypes a minimum of 60 wpm./liliBasic knowledge of typical office equipment including multi-line phones, multi-function machines, cost recovery equipment, etc./liliIntermediate knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Nuance PDF./liliMinimum of high school diploma required./li/ul/div
