The Maternity Suite at Cambridge Hospital is a beautiful unit with views of downtown Boston and Harvard Square. It includes a Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit and a Postpartum Unit that cares for mothers and infants from birth through early postpartum. The 7‑bed labor unit has 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms. The Postpartum Unit contains 12 private rooms with a level 1B continuing‑care nursery. Responsibilities Provide ongoing assessment and care of the mother through the antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods according to established guidelines. Provide assessment and care of the newborn according to established guidelines, including educating parents from antenatal to immediate postpartum. Orchestrate and initiate discharge planning and follow‑up care for mother and newborn. Participate in labor and delivery unit‑based quality improvement initiatives. Maintain clinical practice in accordance with AWHONN, ACOG, NRP, and AAP established guidelines. Successfully complete the labor and delivery unit‑based competency programs as required. Qualifications BSN preferred. Current Massachusetts RN Licensure. Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required. AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring preferred. Current labor and delivery experience required.
