Make an Impact! Make an impact on your patient's life as an Advanced Practice Provider, a licensed medical provider, for General Surgery patients. Under the supervision of an attending surgeon/physician, you would be aiding in the management of your patients in a variety of areas: inpatient, peri-operative and intra-operative care. You would extend the services of the attending surgeon/physician by: acting as a liaison for the supervising physician, obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting imaging, laboratory and other diagnostic tests, prescribing medications & therapies, performing and assisting in common bedside procedures.

Position

Physician Assistant PA / Nurse Practitioner, NP - General Surgery Inpatient Shift: Part time, 36 hours/week, Day shift. 7a-7p with weekend and Holiday rotations.

Experience

1. 2 years' experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, or Board-Eligible Graduate preferred. 2. New graduates with Inpatient and Surgical rotations required.

Education

1. Bachelor's degree required. 2. Must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.

Licensures/Certifications

1. Must be Certified ( PA-C or NP) or new graduate who is eligible for certification. 2. Active license with Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure. 3. Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required. 4. ACLS certification required. 5. Additional certifications specific to specialty may be required or preferred. Refer to the Specialty Addendum. 6. Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.
