Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
Provide high-quality labor and delivery nursing care in a high-risk obstetrics unit, ensuring patient safety and adherence to staffing protocols. This travel position requires advanced clinical skills to manage complex deliveries and postpartum recoveries.

Responsibilities:

• Administer comprehensive nursing care to obstetrical patients, including high-risk cases, in accordance with clinical protocols.
• Circulate during cesarean sections and manage high-acuity patients in the labor and delivery setting.
• Monitor fetal heart rates using GE fetal monitors and document findings accurately in Meditech.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure smooth patient transitions.
• Educate patients and families on labor progress, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and dress code regulations.

Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in high-risk labor and delivery care.
• Certification in AWONN fetal monitoring or similar advanced neonatal monitoring is required.
• Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume, high-acuity obstetrical patients.
• Proficiency in performing vaginal deliveries, c-sections, D&C, and postpartum recovery.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical assessment skills.
