Veterinary Technician - Neurology

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Technician in Lafayette! Payscale - APCA I - RVT I: $22.15 - $33.60 /Hr Overview We strive to provide state‑of‑the‑art services to our patients and clients. Applicants should have a strong knowledge base, motivation to learn, and ambition to work in a fast‑paced team environment. Responsibilities Set up constant rate infusions (CRI). Calculate all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc). Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia. Set up for MRI and CT procedures. Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc. Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values. Perform callbacks and refill medications. Client education, gathering histories and communicating them to the clinician. Perform physical exam; accurately count heart rate, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort. Understand normal vital parameters. Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture. Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors. Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics. Qualifications Applicants must possess a strong knowledge base, motivation to learn, and ambition to work in a fast‑paced team environment.
