Human Resources GeneralistThe Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting employees and leaders across a broad range of HR functions, with a primary focus on leave-of-absence administration and benefits management. This role ensures compliance with applicable regulations, delivers a high-quality employee experience, and partners with internal stakeholders to support organizational objectives.Leave Of Absence ManagementAdminister all employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, state-specific leaves, and company-sponsored leave policiesServe as the primary point of contact for employees regarding leave requests, eligibility, and documentation requirementsCoordinate with third-party administrators (if applicable) to ensure timely and accurate case managementTrack and monitor leave usage, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsPartners with managers to support return-to-work processes, accommodations, and transitional work arrangementsMaintain accurate and confidential leave records and documentationBenefits AdministrationAdminister employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement, and wellness initiativesAct as a resource for employees regarding benefits eligibility, enrollment, and claims issuesSupport annual open enrollment, including communications, system setup, and employee educationLiaise with benefits brokers and vendors to resolve issues and ensure service qualityReconcile benefits billing and ensure accurate payroll deductionsAssist in evaluating and recommending improvements to benefits offeringsResponds to 401(k) inquiries from employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.Administers the tuition reimbursement program.Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.HR Generalist ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers across multiple functionsSupport onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a positive employee experienceAssist with employee relations matters, including investigations, documentation, and coachingEnsure compliance with company policies and employment lawsMaintain HRIS data integrity and generate reports as neededContribute to HR projects and initiatives such as policy updates, training programs, and process improvementsAssists with new-hire orientationsJob QualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)Bilingual in English/Spanish3+ years of HR experience, with a strong focus on leave administration and benefitsSolid understanding of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, and applicable state leave lawsExperience working with HRIS and benefits administration systemsDemonstrated Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable lawsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretionEffective communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred Skills (Not Required)HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)Experience working with third-party leave administrators and benefits brokersMulti-state leave administration experienceCompany Standard Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with Company staff and others contacted in the course of work.Ability to assume responsibility and exercise good judgment in making decisions within the scope of authority of the position.Ability to readily adapt to changing priorities and take direction from more than one staff member.Ability to think and work effectively under pressure and accurately complete tasks within established times.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to prioritize tasks, meet multiple deadlines, and ensure that work is accomplished in the time frame required.Ability to be highly organized and provide careful attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to exercise individual initiative and discretion in confidential matters and to respect confidential matters.Physical Demands and Working EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
