About the Role

The Company is seeking a Managing Director for North America to lead a strategic transition with a strong focus on power distribution. The successful candidate will have full P&L responsibility for the US and Canada, driving commercial growth, financial performance, and resource allocation. This role demands a leader who is actively engaged with customers and the market, and who can build and lead a commercial organization with a technical sales focus. The ideal candidate will have a background in power distribution, switchgear, electrical equipment, sensors, instrumentation, or a related technical product category, and must be adept at leading a team where technical knowledge and the ability to communicate value are paramount. Key responsibilities for the Managing Director include leading the company's North American operation, which is poised for significant growth within the power distribution sector. This involves aligning sales and technical resources, simplifying pricing and quoting processes, and enhancing internal efficiency. The role also requires the ability to influence product strategy, with a focus on engineering, quality, and reliability. The candidate should be comfortable in a smaller, entrepreneurial environment, and be prepared to take on the challenge of a business that is still in the early stages of development in North America. Experience in a similar leadership role, or a senior commercial position with the potential to step into full business ownership, is essential. The position is remote, with a requirement for approximately 30% travel, and the Managing Director will be the primary representative of the US and Canadian markets within the global organization.
