Summary Under the clinical supervision of an independently licensed therapist, provide outpatient individual, family, and group therapy to adults with behavioral health disorders in a clinic setting. Clients may have mood, anxiety disorders, trauma, eating disorders, substance use, or serious mental illness. Work is guided by Brown University Health values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence. Responsibilities Establish a positive, trusting rapport with clients. Maintain current knowledge of diagnostic and treatment strategies for specialized populations and seek out clinical information to improve competency. Conduct intake assessments and required screenings for clients from open access, hospital discharges, emergency services, and scheduled appointments. Develop client‑ and family‑centered Treatment Plans that address clinical needs according to best practices. Provide individual, family, and group therapy using best practice treatment strategies. Conduct crisis assessments for clients at risk of harm to self or others, recommend appropriate services, and complete safety plans with families. Assess potential need for pharmacological treatment, refer to GOP prescriber, and provide coordinated care. Deliver psycho‑educational services based on modality, frequency, participant, and location specifications in the Treatment Plan. Increase knowledge of evidence‑based strategies for adults with serious mental illness. Coordinate care with GOP team members, the client’s primary care physician, and other service providers to promote recovery. Collaboratively document progress notes and treatment plan review documents with clients when possible. Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries according to clinical standards and timelines. Identify family needs that can be supported through community resources, staying familiar with eligibility requirements and referral methods. Recognize indicators of abuse and neglect and respond with appropriate actions. Maintain knowledge of psychiatric medications, work with prescribing professionals to assess and address needs, and assist clients in adhering to medication protocols. Present case summaries at clinical treatment meetings, integrating team input. Attend meetings and trainings punctually and participate actively. Participate in scheduled supervision and may provide clinical supervision to others in line with licensure. Maintain good work habits, arrive on time, and complete duties as assigned. Qualifications Master’s Degree in social work, marriage/family counseling, rehabilitation counseling, mental health counseling, or a related mental health field. Associate‑level license (e.g., LCSW, LMHA, LMFA). At least two years of experience providing individual and family therapy to adults with adjustment, mood, and anxiety disorders. Knowledge of treatment strategies for adults with trauma, eating disorders, substance abuse, and serious mental illness. Special Requirements Flexible schedule that enables evening hours. Knowledge of community resources. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Effective oral and written communication with clients, families, supervisors, agency staff, community professionals, and the general public. Ability to present information and respond to questions from professionals, managers, and families. Ability to complete required training and certifications. Strong speech, grammar, spelling, and legibility for clear communication. Pay Range: $29.53 – $48.72 Location: 4705 Old Post Rd., Charlestown, Rhode Island 02813 Work Type: 4:30–7:30p.m. (twice a week), 8:00–11:00a.m. (Saturday). Shift: Day.
