Civil Litigation Associate

Associate Litigation AttorneyClient is dedicated exclusively to protecting homeowners in disputes with residential contractors, builders, and developers. We represent clients in matters involving defective construction, contract disputes, project delays, mechanic's liens, payment disputes, warranty claims, and other construction-related litigation.We are seeking a motivated and ambitious attorney with 3–5 years of litigation experience to join our team. Construction law experience is helpful but not required. We are looking for an attorney who enjoys advocating for clients, taking ownership of cases, and developing into a skilled trial lawyer.What You'll DoAs an Associate Litigation Attorney, you will manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution, including:Conducting client consultations and developing litigation strategyDrafting pleadings, motions, and discoveryTaking and defending depositionsArguing motions in courtParticipating in mediations and settlement negotiationsWorking with construction experts and consultantsPreparing cases for trial, arbitration, and evidentiary hearingsMaintaining regular communication with clients throughout their mattersOur attorneys are given significant responsibility from day one and are expected to play an active role in every phase of litigation, however you are not left to figure this stuff out alone. We work as a team and with a team lead that will provide you with guidance and mentorship.QualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law schoolActive license to practice law in Virginia (Maryland and/or D.C. admission is a plus)3–5 years of civil litigation, trials experienceStrong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skillsExperience managing cases independentlyDeposition, hearing, and motion practice experienceExcellent client communication and organizational skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentExperience in construction litigation, commercial litigation, or real estate litigation is preferred but not required.Why Join Us?At client, you won't spend years sitting behind a senior attorney.
