Overview:
We are looking for a qualified bartender/server to ensure our guests have a great drinking and dining experience with Holiday Inn KCI in our casual dining establishment, Burger Theory!

Primary Server Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure customers receive a great dining experience by acknowledging, greeting, and thanking all guests; take initiative in resolving guest challenges, and involve a supervisor when needed.
• Handle table bookings, direct customers to their tables, present menus, suggest dishes, assist in drink selection, inform customers about food preparation details, and communicate specific customer needs to the cooks.
• Maintain proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling customer requests, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.
• Stay updated on current menu choices and specialties, as well as menu deviations and kitchen shortages to keep guests informed when ordering.
• Obtain revenues, issue receipts to customers, accept payments, and return change as needed; accurately process all cash and credit card transactions using established procedures.
• Perform all pre-shift and/or post-shift cleaning/preparation tasks, such as cleaning tables, laying out napkins and utensils, refilling condiments, sweeping floors, etc.
• Assist with the completion of basic cleaning tasks as needed.
• Assist with special events as needed.
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards as well as IHG Service Standards.
• Communicate other products and services available at the hotel upon guest inquiry.
• Other duties as assigned.

Primary Bartending Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use great customer service skills by greeting guests pleasantly as they approach the bar, taking and preparing their orders promptly, and creating an overall friendly interaction.
• Prepare beverages as requested using established pouring standards and drink recipes to provide a consistent product to the guests and to control costs.
• Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions using established procedures.
• Check guest identification in accordance with federal law.
• Follow established Hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times; immediately report any safety/service incident to the supervisor or manager on duty.
• Take action to solve guest problems/complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines.
• Set up the bar accurately and efficiently with all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware, and supplies.
• Perform pre- and post-shift procedures.
• Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during, and after every shift.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years or older!
• Previous serving experience is preferred.
• Previous bartending experience is preferred.
• Cash handling experience is preferred.
• Must speak English fluently and be able to write in Basic English.
• Food Handlers Card is a bonus.
• ServerSafe Card is a bonus.
• Must have a high level of stamina to work on feet for extended periods.
• Must be able to frequently lift/carry objects up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift/carry objects up to 50 lbs.

Schedule (may vary):

• Days and hours scheduled per week will vary depending upon operating needs; 20-30 hours per week on average
• Need Evening availability!! 4pm-12pm
• Thursday and Friday evening availability needed
• Some AM availability is a bonus! 5am-11am
• Holidays as needed
• Overtime as needed
• Weekend availability

Shift Differential/Pay Structure:

• PM server shift rate - $7.50/hour plus tips
• Bartender shift rate - $8.05/hour plus tips
