Data Cloud Connector EngineerYou will design, build, and maintain the Data Cloud Connector (DCC), the service that moves clinical data from hospital systems into GE HealthCare's cloud. That data powers the analytics and AI tools clinicians use to make decisions about real patients. You will work across the full software lifecycle, from requirements and design through implementation, testing, and production support, on a distributed system that runs in hospitals around the world. Healthcare data standards are a big part of the work, and you do not need to know them coming in.Roles and ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:Collaborate with system engineers, frontend developers, and software developers to build solutions that extend our shared platformsWrite clean, tested code that meets team standards using the technologies selected for the projectBuild and maintain backend features such as web services and database queriesApply SDLC best practices including continuous integration, security, scalability, refactoring, and documentationAssess and improve application performance against defined targetsApply core data structures and algorithms to solve practical engineering problemsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a STEM field, with a minimum of 2 years of software engineering experience.Technical ExpertiseHands-on experience with Java and/or Python, and with AWS cloud servicesProficient with Git and modern source control workflows (branching, pull requests, code review) using GitHub and/or GitLabExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent)Working knowledge of automated testing at the unit, integration, end-to-end levels, and behavior-driven testing (e.g. Cucumber)Experience delivering software in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, XP, or Lean)Understanding of how technology and tooling choices affect development speed, quality, and maintainabilityDesired CharacteristicsBreaks down complex problems and provides realistic estimates for development tasksSeeks to understand a problem fully before building, and asks clarifying questions when requirements are ambiguousVoices opinions with clear rationale, using data and evidence to influenceTakes independent ownership of deliverables and completes them on time and at high qualityStays current on technology trends and brings new ideas and frameworks to the teamAdapts quickly to changing requirements and is receptive to coachingUnderstands the product's value to the customer and connects their own work to the team's goalsWe will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $103,040.00-$154,560.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
