Lead Systems Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate must have strong NPSS modeling expertise and deep thermodynamics knowledge while building and refining simulation models, performing requirements analysis, and collaborating across teams to deliver accurate engineering insights.

Rate Range: $75/Hour to $80/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Lead Systems Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Develop, debug, and maintain steady-state and transient NPSS thermal models for gas turbine engine performance and operability analysis.
• Perform requirements analysis and decomposition to support engine design across all phases of new product introduction (NPI).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate modeling insights into system-level engineering decisions.
• Create and validate customer-facing NPSS models, ensuring accuracy and reliability of simulation outputs.
• Share knowledge and mentor team members on NPSS modeling techniques and best practices.
• Communicate technical findings through reports and presentations to leadership, customers, and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (master's preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in gas turbine engine performance and operability modeling and analysis.
• Strong expertise in NPSS (Numerical Propulsion System Simulation) modeling with hands-on experience in steady-state and transient thermal analysis.
• Deep understanding of gas turbine engine thermodynamics with experience in requirements analysis and integration within MBSE environments.

Pay Details: $75.00 to $80.00 per hour
