Registered Nurse, NICU, RPT (Min. 1 Year Experience Required)

Job Summary The Registered Nurse at North Mississippi Health Services Systems is responsible for providing safe, quality patient care using the nursing process, maintaining effective communication with the multidisciplinary team, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires leadership skills in prioritizing, delegating, and evaluating work assignments, as well as effective problem‑solving abilities to respond to changing patient needs. Responsibilities Use the nursing process to provide safe, quality patient care and document accordingly. Ensure compliance with all NMHS policies and requirements as directed by the Nurse Manager and Educator. Provide patient/family education and act as a resource for new employees. Participate in the preceptor class to train new employees. Maintain communication with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care. Attend daily huddles on each unit to ensure proper assignments and identify team members for the shift. Project a caring, friendly and helpful image to patients and guests. Use the patient’s communication board to identify name, date, goals and other relevant information for patients and families. Adhere to NMHS behavioral standards. Maintain competency by staying informed of changing trends in nursing practice. Attend annual reviews and unit specific meetings. Complete required continuing education hours, both online and in classroom. Comply with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. Maintain active RN licensure and required certifications. Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent education with at least one year of experience. Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice (or compact‑eligible). Certifications: CPR, ACLS, PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NIH Stroke Scale Certification. Effective communication and teaching skills. Knowledge of regulatory and accrediting standards. Ability to prioritize, delegate, and evaluate work assignments. Proactive in anticipating resource needs and assimilating data appropriately. Experience orienting new employees and reporting progress to charge nurse or nurse manager. Strong interpersonal skills with physicians, ancillary personnel, nursing staff, patients, families, and visitors.
